ABOUT ME

I’m Kyle Welch, the photographer behind ShutterBurn Media. A visual brand built on a passion for motorsports, action sports, and live event storytelling. Based in Wisconsin and most often found trackside at Road America, I specialize in capturing the speed, emotion, and behind-the-scenes moments that define racing culture.

While ShutterBurn Media officially launched into motorsports photography in 2024, my visual storytelling roots go back much further. After graduating college in 2013, I spent time working in the film industry, then transitioned into event coverage and video production, sharpening my eye for dynamic moments and real, unscripted emotion. That experience laid the groundwork for the still photography I create today — bold, cinematic, and rooted in authenticity.

My work focuses on clean composition and impactful storytelling, covering major racing series like IMSA, IndyCar, MotoAmerica & AMA Motocross, as well as other action sports and live events across the Midwest.
